Week 5: Learning to Prez-ent!

As we continue to move forward in your technology transformation, I hope that you are beginning to feel more comfortable with your skill.  In an odd way, everything you learn technology wise builds your mental schema of how to work with new tools.  There is a lot of overlap in what skills are required for each of the new tools you use!
You should continue the balancing act that is your workload for this class.  You are tweeting, writing posts for journal articles, working on your newsletters, and oh, yea, you probably have other classes too ;-)
Tonight, we will finally get into TaskStream, but just to ensure you have accounts and that you are self-enrolled in the Local TPE. Here is the code you will need:  Local TPE: 6SG3BA.  Last week I discussed that I expect you to complete the Technology Self-Assessment on your own.  However, I will briefly cover the requirements in class.  Lastly, we will learn a new presentation tool, Prezi, that you will use to create a presentation on the NETS for Students (See link on the left).  Finally, I will ensure that everyone understands how to convert their classroom newsletter to PDFs!

This Week's Question:  What is your current favorite musical artist or band?  Currently, I can't stop listening to Portugal. The Man, who are in fact playing at House of Blues tomorrow. . .But my all-time favorite band is Radiohead

  1. UUuuuuuuhhhhh.....That's a hard question.....Currently I'm listening to a lot of Deadmau5. I think my favorite band/artist of all time might be a tie between The Aquabats, Depeche Mode and Kenna. But I kind of listen to an odd mix of music and I like all of it. :D

  2. I don't really have a favorite artist because I can't stand listening to the same thing over and over again. Since my ipod is out of battery and I can't listen to old school underground Hip Hop, I have been listening to the Spanglish radio stations playing mostly soft Reggaeton.

  3. It changes several times a year, but this summer, my favorite song was definitely Big Jet Plane by Angus & Julia Stone. That song is BEAST! Would drive around with it on repeat all summer long. Right now, however, I cannot stop listening to Adele's Someone Like You. I swear my heart bawls every time I hear it.

  7. My favorite band of all time is They Might Be Giants. I've been a fan of their music since I was in junior high in the mid 1980's. I see them in concert whenever they come to town and they are so much fun live. I'm really excited because I am going to see them at the Bellyup Tavern in November which is a great small venue to see bands. Then I am seeing them again in L.A. this January for their 30th anniversary show. I also like a lot of other more indie and alt music like Sufjan Stevens, Grandaddy, Rufus Wainright, and The Shins.

My all time favorite band would have to be the classic London-based, but world wide known rock band Pink Floyd. I am sure you have all heard of them. One of my favorite songs by them is a song titled Time, I love listening to it when I go running. If you enjoy a good song to listen to when working out, or running download Time by Pink Floyd!

  14. o goodness. I am not sure if i have a favorite band. I know i recently saw Kid Rock in concert last month and become even more of a fan. I feel that in order for me to really like a band, they have to be 'all around' awesome band. I also really like the Killers!!! I saw them at street scene and I was blown away. I would love to go and see them again. I already really liked them when i went. SO i guess i would put them on the top of my list. they are great!!
